Media players come with all sorts of unique features, for easier music management, higher sound quality or just a comfortable experience. You can expect such features from PlumPlayer. This lightweight audio player makes it easier to organize songs in playlists and it offers a good playback quality. In addition, the software provides a few scheduling features and it can run slideshows while playing music.

PlumPlayer is offered completely free of charge and you can have it up and running on your computer in just a few moments. It works on Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 and it doesn't have any significant impact on a computer's performance. Also, there is no need to install additional codecs or any other tools.

The application allows you to browse through your local folders and manage your songs and playlists on the same user interface. If you select one or more music folders, on the left half of the window, their contained songs will appear on the right half, where you can play them and save the current selection as a new playlist. Besides naming a new playlist, you may also specify a URL, if you wish to stream your music on the Internet. Furthermore, a playlist can be scheduled to play between certain hours or to repeat itself every hour or on specific days of the week.

It is possible to create multiple playlists and you can add new files to any playlist at any time. Switching between playlists can be done instantly, with a single click. The best part is that PlumPlayer will pause the current song automatically if you switch to another playlist. Also, the song will be rewinded a few seconds and resumed automatically when you return to a playlist.

The main user interface has a simple and elegant design, but you can make it look more interesting by adding pictures on its background. PlumPlayer allows you to select one or more image folders, on a separate window. The contained images will be displayed in a slideshow on the interface's background, but you can also play the slideshow in full screen mode. If you play music and a full screen slideshow at the same time, the application will display the title and artist of the currently playing song, during the slideshow.
